At Sand Creek Custom Wear, we’re all about bringing your custom apparel ideas to life with top-notch service and a personal touch. Our journey started back in 2010, when Jackie and Peter Gillis purchased a small embroidery business called Earle’s Embroidery & Design. Fast forward to 2014, they added Meyers Sport Tees to the mix, moved everything to downtown Sandpoint, and voilà—Sand Creek Custom Wear was born!
By the end of 2017, we expanded our offerings with screen printing equipment, allowing us to dive into locally decorated apparel with even more creativity and precision.
In 2021, Jackie and Peter passed the torch to us—Elli and Aaron Vahrenwald. We’re beyond excited to continue the legacy they built, serving our incredible North Idaho community with the same quality and commitment you’ve come to know and love.
But that’s not all! In late 2024, we took a giant leap and moved into a larger space in Ponderay. This exciting move means more room for creativity, expanded services, and faster turnaround times for your custom orders! We’re always striving to improve our craft and make sure you get the best experience possible.

Our equipment
At Sand Creek Custom Wear, we have a variety of top-of-the-line equipment that we use to serve you! Whether you’re interested in screen printing, laser-etching, or something else, we have the machinery you need to bring your designs to life. Our machines include five single-head Barudan embroidery machines, one of which has been going strong for over 20 years! In addition, we have a brand-new M&R 6-color screen printing press, and a Riley Hopkins four-color press. These machines allow us to load four garments at a time and print multi-colored designs with great results! No matter what kind of custom apparel or special item you’re looking for, we can create it for you.
Our digital printing department has an Epson F2100 Direct-to-Garment printer, which allows us to produce any artwork on virtually any garment without minimums or extra costs for multiple colors. Our store also has a variety of Hotronix heat presses and a hat press, a top-tier brand that ensures our jobs are done correctly and with the highest quality in mind.
